Who we are
The Charriau company was founded in 1963 under the management of Joseph CHARRIAU. He sells and installs milk cooling tanks on farms under the Milkeeper and Zero brands.
En 1968, les Ets Charriau deviennent distributeurs de la marque Japy. In the 1980s, Joseph Charriau developed products such as programmable stirrers and electronic pulsators. With Thermor, he participated in the development of the heat recovery unit.
It creates the quick coupling, a product that allows for fast and hygienic collection from transporters.
In 1997, the company was taken over by the sons, Jacques and Yves, who continued their father’s work. The quick coupling evolves and is simplified and awarded at SPACE in 2003. This was followed by the self-cleaning box and the milk pre-cooler, which received another award at SPACE in 2008.
Over the last ten years, Charriau has developed new products such as the 3-way valve allowing milk to enter from below, the Vigilait, the intelligent system that signals a malfunction of the milk tank.
The patented electronic control panel will complete the efficiency of the pre-cooler in 2019.
Although created in April 2000 by Jacques and Yves CHARRIAU, the CHARRIAU establishments are in fact a continuation of the company created by their father Joseph CHARRIAU in 1963.
At the beginning of the 1990s, Joseph CHARRIAU turned to the second-hand milk cooling tank market and also developed new products related to the milk cooling tank. In particular, the first really functional quick coupling for milk collection appeared. More than 8,000 of them were sold and are still in use today. Joseph CHARRIAU retired in 1996.
Under his new company, created by Jacques and Yves, a new quick coupling will be developed and released in 2002, awarded at SPACE in 2003, followed in 2009 by the tubular milk pre-cooler, also awarded at SPACE.
At the end of 2007, CHARRIAU joined forces with Patrice POINGT to create TPS3, a specialist in spare parts for milk cooling tanks.
